My start in tech was peak Y2K. While the neighborhood dumped its "virus-infected" desktops on the curb, my brother Bert and I hauled the hardware home and rebuilt working PCs for friends and family. That take-it-apart-until-you-understand-it instinct is still exactly how I approach every system I touch.

Seventeen-plus years — and a move from the New York boroughs to the Florida sun — later, I've worn nearly every hat in IT: helpdesk, sysadmin, security engineer, systems engineer, and now DevOps Engineer at Disney Cruise Line. I've supported everything from a single small business to global datacenters and thousands of end users, and every role reinforced the same belief: the best systems are the ones nobody has to babysit.

These days I live in automation and the cloud — writing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Ansible, building CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins and Azure DevOps, and scripting the tedious parts away in PowerShell. I care just as much about the guardrails: identity & access with SailPoint and SSO/MFA, certificate management, and security hardening across AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments.

What I enjoy most is a clean turn-key solution — the kind that quietly onboards a client, patches a vulnerability, or purges a phishing wave before anyone files a ticket. If something shouldn't be done by hand twice, I'm probably already automating it.
